Core Five NBA DFS Plays for October 25

NBA DFS expert Chris Rose gives his top plays for the second big slate of the NBA season.
NBA DFS Kyrie Irving

Chris Rose is a former Division I football player at Central Connecticut, where he won two conference champions. Rose qualified for a seat in the FanDuel WFBC final in San Diego this year and has won $35K thus far in 2019. Last year, he won over $70K. Rose plays high-stakes games, and predominantly GPPs about 98% of the time.

Our first article of the season had some big hits such as Andre Drummond but also had a few misses like Tomas Satoransky. Marvin Bagley suffered an injury after three quarters of play but was still able to haul in a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double.

The first Friday night of the season features a nine-game slate, including the battle for New York between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. Kyrie Irving is coming off an epic performance so he is one of our core top five players to get into your lineup.

In my five core plays, I'm providing you five players who I think you should build your lineups around. Try to get as many of these players into your lineups as possible. These five ballers are not necessarily superstars, but they all have a reason for making the list, whether it be the matchup, a key injury or the price. So without further ado, here are my five core NBA DFS plays for Friday, October 25.

PG Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets (DK: $9,000 / FD: $9,700)

I don't have to say much about Irving. He'll continue to put up 30-plus shots per game, and be the focal point of Brooklyn's offense. He's doing it all on the court, which will force me to play him until he's 11K on FanDuel.

PG Ricky Rubio, Phoenix Suns (DK: $5,600 / FD: $7,000)

He'll be on triple-double watch all season long. The Suns have a ton of playmakers that can score from all areas. It's disappointing that Deandre Ayton will be suspended for 25 games, but it should help Rubio in the scoring department. Rubio should also get a handful of steals tonight against Jamal Murray, who tends to turn the ball over.

SG Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz (DK: $7,700 / FD: $8,500)

With some key pieces added to this team over the offseason, I thought maybe Mitchell's usage would take a slight hit. He proved me wrong in his 2019 campaign debut with 32 points and 12 rebounds, converting 12-of-22 field goal attempts. Bojan Bogdanovic could possibly be out tonight, so we can expect a slight bump in Mitchell's value.

SF / PF Nemanja Bjelica, Sacramento Kings (DK: $3,600 / FD: $3,700)

The Kings have already been hit with tons of injuries. Bagley is out. Buddy Hield is questionable. Harry Giles is still out. At only 3.7K on FanDuel and expected to start, Bjelica is the best value player on the board.

C Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggetts (DK: $9,300 / FD: $10,800)

Everyone will say they're scared of a blowout. However, Joker put up a monster 79.7 fantasy-point game in a 30-point blow out early in the year last year. With Ayton out, and the Suns' lack of a legitimate interior presence, Jokic should go bonkers tonight. Over his last three games against Phoenix, he's averaged 58.6 FanDuel points.
