ESPN to Dedicate Entire Day of Coverage to Celtics

Celtics fans, you may want to keep your television/computer/phone permanently on ESPN’s platforms come March 1.

The media conglomerate is planning to dedicate an entire day of coverage to the Eastern Conference champions for the initiative “Boston Celtics All-Access.” Beginning on SportsCenter at 7 am ET, ESPN’s platforms will air “wall-to-wall” coverage of the Celtics, including on “Get Up, First Take, the noon SportsCenter, NBA Today, the 6 p.m. SportsCenter, NBA Countdown, the late night SportsCenter shows, ESPN.com,” ESPN’s social platforms and others. It’ll build up to the 7:30 p.m. tipoff of Boston vs. Cleveland.

“Through compelling storytelling and unprecedented access, we’re dedicated to bringing fans closer to one of the most storied franchises in all of sports as they chase banner 18,” David Roberts, ESPN Head of NBA and Studio Production, said in the announcement. “We will thoroughly document a day in the life of the Boston Celtics organization, from the talented team on the court, to the coaching staff and front office.”

This is not the first time an NBA team was the subject of an all-access coverage plan. There was one for the 76ers back in 2017 and Grizzlies last March. After Tuesday’s games, the Celtics still have the best record in the league, leading the Eastern Conference at 38–16.
