Kevin Love to Sign With Heat After Receiving Cavaliers Buyout, per Report

Kevin Love is expected to sign with the Heat, agent Jeff Schwartz told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Sunday.
The 34-year-old power forward most likely will be slowly worked into the Heat’s frontcourt rotation, per Wojnarowski. Love also reportedly spoke with the 76ers before committing to Miami.
The move comes after Love and the Cavaliers completed a contract buyout last Thursday following his 8 1/2 seasons in Cleveland. From the moment Love completed the contract buyout with the Cavaliers, the Heat appeared as the top team to land the forward.
The Heat currently sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings at 32–27.
During his tenure in Cleveland, Love earned two All-Star selections and won an NBA title in 2016. However, he has only started in three games out of 41 appearances this season due to a thumb injury incurred early in the season. Off the bench, Love is averaging 8.5 points and 6.8 rebounds this season, both career lows.
Before his time with the Cavaliers, Love played for the Timberwolves from 2008–14. He earned three All-Star selections during that time.
