Patrick Beverley Wants to Knock Lakers Out of Playoffs With Bulls

Patrick Beverley isn’t known to be the most forgiving of point guards. He has been traded time and time again, always relishing any opportunity to face the team that just shipped him off without a second thought. The Lakers will be no different.

Los Angeles traded him to the Magic on Feb. 9 and then the two sides agreed to a buyout before he eventually signed with his hometown Bulls. While on his podcast, the 34-year-old said he was itching to face the Lakers, a team they play twice this season, and was asked what’s going to be going through his head when he faces his former teammates.

“Knock them out the playoffs,” he said on the Pat Bev Podcast with Rone.

He also expressed how important it is to him to get the Bulls to the postseason as someone who is from Chicago. His new squad is right outside of the play-in tournament picture with the No. 11 seed in the Eastern Conference at 26–33. Meanwhile, Los Angeles is on a similar warpath.

The Lakers (27–32) are the No. 13 seed in the Western Conference but are just a couple of wins behind the Timberwolves (31–30) for the No. 8 seed. Beverley will face Los Angeles in back-to-back games on March 26 and 29.
