Why Andrew Wiggins Missed the Past 22 Warriors Games, per Report

In this story:
Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins’s 22-game absence is because his father, Mitchell, has been working through a “serious medical situation,” The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Monday.
Wiggins, who has been away from the team since mid-February, was reportedly set to return this week after dealing with a “family matter,” per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Neither Wiggins nor the team have confirmed the reason for his prolonged absence.
According to Charania, Wiggins is expected to attend (but not play in) the team’s Tuesday game against the Thunder. Charania also added that “the Warriors have given Wiggins complete space and freedom to deal with his family matter.”

It’s unclear what role Wiggins will play in the final stretch of Golden State’s regular-season schedule. With the team currently in the No. 6 spot of the Western Conference standings, Wiggins could be a huge help for the team heading into the playoffs.
