Cam Johnson to Return to Nets on Four-Year, $108 Million Deal, per Report

Cam Johnson has reportedly agreed to a four-year, $108 million deal to remain with the Nets, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson was part of the trade for Kevin Durant that saw Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder and multiple draft picks and a pick swap be sent to the Nets in exchange for Durant and T.J. Warren last February. While Bridges emerged as the franchise’s star in the second half of the season, Johnson served a pivotal cornerstone piece alongside Bridges.

The former No. 11 pick in the 2019 NBA draft played in 42 games between both the Suns and the Nets during the 2022-23 season. He averaged 15.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals in 28.5 minutes per game while shooting 47% from the floor and 40.4% from beyond the arc.

In the playoffs, Johnson averaged a career-high 18.5 points. 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists in 38 minutes in four games.

Prior to landing a new deal in Brooklyn, Johnson was linked with the Rockets. Now, he will earn $27 million annually in his new deal. As a result, the Nets will not have to enter into the luxury tax after trading Joe Harris to the Pistons.
