Report: Tacko Fall, Third-Tallest Player in NBA History, to Spend 2024 Season in China

An NBA cult hero is reportedly set to spend a second straight season overseas.

Center Tacko Fall is signing with the Nanjing Tongxi Monkey Kings of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to a Sunday night report from Stadium’s Shams Charania.

Fall, 27, spent the 2023 season with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the same league. He averaged 13.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game on a 20–15 team.

This summer, Fall played with the Bucks in the NBA Summer League. He averaged 6.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game across five games.

Fall—a former member of the Celtics (2020–21) and Cavaliers (’22)—is widely known among basketball fans for his considerable size. The Dakar, Senegal native is 7’6” and 311 pounds, making him the third-tallest player in NBA history behind centers Gheorghe Mureșan and Manute Bol.

He played collegiately at UCF, where he is the school's all-time leading shot-blocker. Famously, Fall nearly helped the Knights to an upset of top-seeded Duke in the second round of the 2019 NCAA tournament.
