NBA Showed Off New-Look Courts for In-Season Tournament Games, and Fans Weren’t Impressed

The NBA revealed that each team will have a unique in-season tournament court this year on Monday, and fans were left conflicted.

Each newly designed court is bold and bright as the courts showcase the team’s colors. For instance, the Heat’s court design will be fully red, while the Knicks will play on an orange court.

Some teams will have a more throwback or alternate look, such as the Suns with the “El Valle” purple and blue court or Portland’s “Rip City” court.

The in-season tournament is in its inaugural year, and it begins on Friday, Nov. 3, with the championship occurring on Saturday, Dec. 9. All 30 NBA teams will participate.

It’s nothing like what the NBA has implemented before, so it makes sense why the announcement left mixed reviews from fans.

Here’s a quick glance at what the courts will look like.

Overall, though, fans were more frustrated with the fact that the league took away the Larry O’Brien championship trophy on the NBA finals courts, but instead will use these outlandish courts for a tournament that isn’t as well hyped.

Here’s a look at some of the more negative responses to the court designs.
