OG Anunoby Makes Impressive NBA History Across First 10 Games With Knicks

The New York Knicks have been on a tear since acquiring OG Anunoby in a blockbuster trade with the Toronto Raptors.

Anunoby has been with the Knicks for just 10 games, yet he’s made a significant and immediate impact for his new team. New York is 8–2 with 26-year-old in the lineup, and coach Tom Thibodeau has leaned heavily upon the forward during that span.

Anunoby has been a strong contributor on both ends of the floor for the Knicks, and he’s made a historic first impression on the fan base. According to basketball writer Tommy Beer, no player in NBA history has recorded a better plus-minus than Anunoby (+170) across their first 10 games with a team.

The previous best mark was held by Pau Gasol in his first 10 games with the Los Angeles Lakers, when he registered a plus-minus of +151. Anunoby cleared that mark by a significant margin, as he’s wasted no time adapting to his new surroundings.

Anunoby has been seeing plenty of run since becoming a Knick, particularly this past week. Over his last three games, he’s played no fewer than 43 minutes in each contest and has totaled 130 minutes during that span.

The forward spent the first seven seasons of his career with Toronto, but was sent to New York in exchange for package headlined by RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley on Dec. 31.
