An Emotional Jalen Brunson Was Left Speechless By MVP Chants From Knicks Fans

New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson was selected to his first All-Star Game on Thursday, and followed up the honor by dropping 40 points in a win at home against the Indiana Pacers.

After the game, Brunson was serenaded with “MVP” chants by fans at Madison Square Garden, and the 27-year-old was so overwhelmed by the support, he could barely find the words to say during his on-court postgame interview.

“That was fun,” said Brunson, as Knicks fans bellowed down from the stands.

When asked about his journey to reaching the All-Star Game, Brunson simply sighed and shook his head while soaking in the moment, before saying, “I’ve got nothing to say.”

It was Brunson’s fifth 40-plus point game this season, and he led New York to its ninth consecutive victory—even with OG Anunoby and Julius Randle sidelined for the game.

The Knicks sit at 32–17 following the win on Thursday, and fans voiced their appreciation for Brunson’s efforts, which will culminate in his first-ever All-Star appearance alongside Randle at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Feb. 18.
