Victor Wembanyama’s Teammate Had Perfect Reaction to His Louis Vuitton Endorsement

In the United States, when news breaks that an athlete “is teaming up with his hometown brand,” an NFL player teaming up with a local T-shirt company probably comes to mind.

San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama—as he does on the court—is going about things a little differently.

In a Tuesday profile for GQ, the 20-year-old Frenchman discussed partnering with Louis Vuitton, one of the world’s most famous luxury fashion houses.

“I wanted a meaningful partnership,” Wembanyama told writer Sam Schube. “To me it made a lot of sense to partner with LV—you know, French excellence. The expertise is something that I feel very much attracted to.”

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has agreed to an endorsement deal with designer brand Louis Vuitton.

Wembanyama’s new deal led to an instantly classic quote from Spurs forward Keldon Johnson Wednesday morning.

“I didn’t know they made clothes his size,” Johnson quipped, per Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

At 7’4”, Wembanyama ranks among the tallest players in NBA history.

In a rookie season for the ages, the San Antonio star is averaging 20.5 points, 10 rebounds and a league-leading 3.2 blocks per game.
