Shaq Offered Perfect Quip After Learning He Caused Allen Iverson’s Worst Injury

Basketball Hall of Famers Allen Iverson and Shaquille O’Neal had their fair share of battles through the years, but they always showed love toward one another despite the fearsome competition. During a recent episode of O’Neal’s The Big Podcast, though, Iverson shared that the big man gave him the worst injury of his career. 

O’Neal responded only how he could—with a shameless plug. 

“This dude right here gave me the worst injury I had in my career,” Iverson said. “I was coming down full speed and you tried to get in front of me and your knee hit me in my thigh. I had a thigh bruise. I was out like two months.” 

O’Neal showed little compassion. 

“Damn,” he said. “You ain’t get no Icy Hot? Man up, Allen Iverson. Icy Hot.” 

He’s of course referring to the product used to treat minor aches and pains of the muscles/joints with which he has been partnered with for the last 20 years, according to its website. 

Iverson’s injury sounded like it needed a bit more treatment than a slather of Icy Hot, but O’Neal, ever the pitchman, wasn’t going to let the chance for a plug to pass.
