LeBron James Responds to Latest Bronny Mock Draft Update in Since-Deleted Tweet

Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, has gotten off to a slow start through his freshman season with the USC Trojans.

James is averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 20.2 minutes per game, and has both started and come in off the bench for the Trojans throughout the year.

Heading into the his freshman season, many thought the younger James might be a one-and-done college player. His father has repeatedly stated his desire to play in the NBA alongside his son at some point, and given the elder James is 39, there’s only so many years of professional basketball left for him, even with his brilliance.

Given the somewhat slow start to Bronny’s college career, it now feels more possible that James elects to play another season with the Trojans rather than make the leap to the NBA.

Regardless of what Bronny decides, LeBron wants it to be Bronny’s decision. In a since-deleted post, LeBron responded to speculations about Bronny’s future, saying it was the work that his son put into the game that mattered most.

"Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball," James wrote. "The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!"

While LeBron would go on to delete the tweet, his message remains clear.

USC and Bronny James will be back in action this Thursday on the road against No. 19 Washington State.
