Philadelphia Eagles' New Signing Supports Joel Embiid, Sixers

In this story:
The Philadelphia Eagles have been building out their roster lately and recently formed a reunion with one of their key members from the 2022 NFC Championship team.
After spending the 2023 NFL season with the Detroit Lions, veteran safety CJ Gardner-Johnson returned to the Eagles after hitting the free agency market for the second season in a row.
Now that he’s back with the Philadelphia-based franchise, Johnson showed love to his team’s neighbor, the Philadelphia 76ers.
On Thursday night, the Sixers paid a visit to the Miami Heat. Johnson was in attendance at the Kaseya Center with a rooting-interest in the away team. The veteran Eagle made sure to let his X following know he was there to see Sixers superstar, Joel Embiid, in action.
Johnson soaked up a Sixers game down south at the right time. Thursday’s game marked the second appearance from Joel Embiid since he recovered from a meniscus injury.

Back in January, Embiid was thriving once again as he led the league in scoring and topped most MVP race outlooks. Unfortunately, his knee concerns went from bad to worse, as another player landed on his already-injured knee to end his night out in the Golden State early.
After getting MRIs and weighing treatment options, Embiid opted for surgery. He was expected to be out for at least eight weeks. On Tuesday night, Embiid returned to action after missing two months’ worth of games.
Although he was questionable to play in Miami on Thursday, the MVP-winning big man was cleared for action. He finished the game with 29 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 33 minutes of action. The Sixers defeated the Heat 109-105.
