On Sunday night, Tyrese Maxey put on an offensive clinic against the Indiana Pacers, dropping a career-high 50 points on an efficient 62 percent from the field.

The burst of energy on the offensive end is nothing new to Maxey, who went into Sunday night with two 30+ performances under his belt already this season.

All of this comes while Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse has started to pivot Maxey into more of a play maker, filling the shoes left by the departure of James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers.

When breaking down the former Kentucky guard's career night, Coach Nurse highlighted that his performance was a combination of Maxey's offensive bag.

"I think he mixed so much of what he does so well," Nurse told reporters, "I thought he blasted to the basket with speed a bunch of times, then he did his step-back threes, just a heavy dose of both..."

To Nurse's point, 16 of Maxey's points coming from his signature rim running layups, only missing one shot from beneath the basket, while also raining in a tied season-high seven shots from down town, including the dagger from 32 feet out which gave him his 50th point.

Having coached in Toronto and having to face Maxey multiple times over the previous few seasons, including the game in which he set his previous career-high last season, Nurse was able to comment on the difficulties that come with guarding the 23-year-old due to his versatility on the offensive end of the game.

"I think it was really hard to guard tonight, but it's really hard when he's that fast one way and he's such a deadly shooter in the other direction, so it's like which one are we going to take away, and it kind of makes it hard," explained Nurse.
