The 2023 NBA Playoffs tipped off yesterday, beginning with the Philadelphia 76ers’ Game 1 matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. After a dominant win in favor of the Sixers, the Boston Celtics, and the Atlanta Hawks tipped off their series.
The Eastern Conference’s underdogs didn’t find too much luck in the first two games, as the Hawks suffered a beatdown after the Nets. Then, the New York Knicks changed the trend.
In a tight matchup between the fourth and fifth seeds, the Knicks defeated the Cavaliers on the road to steal a 1-0 advantage. New York became the first Eastern Conference underdogs to win their Game 1 matchup.
Now, the Miami Heat will try to become the second team do it as they are set to begin their first-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night.
During the regular season, the Bucks and the Heat each had two wins and two losses. The Heat won the first two battles, with the Bucks coming out on top during the final two. The last time these two teams faced off was back on February 24.
