As the 2023-2024 season progresses, the league is beginning to flex games in and out of the primetime spotlight based on the interest surrounding certain matchups.

On Monday, the NBA announced two broadcast changes for future Philadelphia 76ers games.

When the Sixers pay a visit to the Utah Jazz on February 1, they’ll see a bump up into the primetime spotlight. With the NBA flexing out the matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Memphis Grizzlies, the Sixers-Jazz battle will be shown on TNT.

Six days later, the 76ers will host the Golden State Warriors in South Philly. While the February 7 matchup was initially set to be broadcast locally, ESPN will pick up the action, having the start time pushed back to 7:30 PM ET. That game will replace the matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics.

This season, the Sixers have continued to look like one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Despite their offseason drama surrounding the ten-time All-Star guard James Harden, the Sixers didn’t miss a step, as they’ve seen a strong emergence from Tyrese Maxey.

In addition to Maxey’s growth, the Sixers have also benefitted from another step forward by the MVP, Joel Embiid. With two stars building their chemistry up, surrounded by a talented supporting cast, the Sixers have been off to a 28-13 start to the year heading into this week’s slate of games.

A win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night allowed the Sixers to get one win closer to 30 as they remain on the heels of the Milwaukee Bucks, who place second in the conference, trailing the 33-10 Boston Celtics.
