NBA In-Season Tournament Bracket Set After 76ers’ Elimination

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers have officially been eliminated from the NBA In-Season Tournament.
Last week, the Sixers realized that could be the case after they dropped their fourth and final matchup of the group stage of the tournament, losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Shortly after the Sixers came up short, the Indiana Pacers officially clinched the East Group A, advancing to the bracket phase. Indiana finished with a perfect 4-0 record.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers took second place in the group, edging out the Sixers with a 3-1 record and a plus-29 point differential. Philadelphia came in third, sitting at 2-2 with a plus-nine point differential. The Atlanta Hawks and the Detroit Pistons combined a record of 1-7.
Although chances of advancing were slim, the Sixers still had an opportunity to garner a spot as an Eastern Conference wildcard team, depending on how the situation would shake out on Tuesday. Unfortunately, luck was not on their side.
The Las Vegas bracket is finally set, and the Sixers will not be taking the trip, as expected. Instead, they’ll watch some of the other East contenders battle it out for the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament knockout rounds.
