At the end of the 2022-2023 NBA season, the Houston Rockets made a significant change. As the head coach Stephen Silas had a fourth-year option attached to his current contract, the team decided not to pick it up. Therefore, they’ll search for the organization’s next head coach.

So far, several prospects have been linked to the Rockets to replace Silas potentially. On Tuesday morning, BetOnline released betting odds for the next head coach. Philadelphia 76ers assistant coach Sam Cassell is among those listed.

To no surprise, Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse is the odds leader at 1/1. Former Washington Wizards head coach and Portland Trail Blazers assistant Scott Brooks is next in line with 5/1 odds, with former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka set at 6/1 with the third-best odds.

Currently, Cassell has the 11th-best odds at 18/1 in the opening lines, according to BetOnline. Beyond Cassell is Becky Hammon, Chris Quinn, Greg Buckner, James Borrego, Jay Wright, Kevin Ollie, and Season Sweeney.

In front of Cassell is Ryan Bowen (16/1), Rex Kalamian (14/1), Charles Lee (12/1), Adrian Griffin (10/1), Frank Vogel (9/1), Kenny Atkinson (8/1), and Mark Jackson (7/1).

The Rockets aren’t going to waste too much time finding Silas’s replacement. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Rockets are scheduling interviews with Atkinson, Griffin, Udoka, Vogel, and James Borrego. Also, Nick Nurse remains a target if he parts ways with the Toronto Raptors.
