On Tuesday, the NBA will announce the 2023 MVP winner. According to the league, the award winner will be announced at 7:00 PM ET.

The award winner will be announced on NBA on TNT.

A couple of weeks back, it was revealed that Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid was one of three finalists for the award, along with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

This season marks the third-straight time Embiid has been labeled a finalist for the award. Over the last two years, Embiid and Jokic were the top-two candidates for the award. Two years back, they were joined by Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

Last season, Antetokounmpo came third in the race. Meanwhile, Embiid was runner-up both times. This year, the big man has an opportunity to finally come out on top.

After leading the NBA in points per game last year, averaging 31 points in 68 games, Embiid upped the ante this year. In 66 games, the big man produced 33 points per game and was named the league’s scoring champion for the second-straight season while shooting a career-high 55 percent from the field.

Along with his scoring, Embiid averaged ten rebounds, four assists, and two blocks per game while helping lead the Sixers to a 54-28 record, which placed the Sixers in the third seed.

The MVP race could be another tight finish this season, but as voters’ ballots became public, Embiid finished the regular season as the favorite to take home the award. On Tuesday, the decision to name Embiid, Jokic, or Antetokounmpo as the winner will become official.
