Sixers' First Opponent of 2023-2024 Season Revealed

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers will once again open up the NBA season on the two-game slate on TNT in late October.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Sixers, and the Milwaukee Bucks will begin the season on October 26, 2023. Following the Sixers-Bucks matchup, the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers will battle it out.
With the latest schedule update, it’s become clear the Sixers have a couple of notable matchups coming up this season. In addition to tipping off the 2023-2024 NBA season, the Sixers are also expected to be on a crowded Christmas Day slate for the second-straight season.
After facing the New York Knicks on Christmas last year, the Sixers are set to battle it out against the Miami Heat on the holiday next season.
Last season when the Sixers opened up the NBA season, they faced the Boston Celtics on the road. Although it was a tough matchup, the Sixers found themselves coming up short against Boston, dropping the game with a 126-117 loss.
After another second-round exit in 2023, the Sixers will look to open up the 2023-2024 season with a bang against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on the road. Last season, the Sixers and the Bucks split their regular season series.
In the first matchup, the Bucks defeated Philadelphia 90-88. Over the next two games, the Sixers collected multiple victories over Milwaukee. When the two teams met for the fourth and final time back in April, the Bucks closed out the regular season series with a 117-104 win.
