Rookie wingman Andre Jackson Jr. hasn’t seen much of the floor when Doc Rivers took over the coaching helm of the Milwaukee Bucks. A rotation player under then-coach Adrian Griffin Jr., the rookie’s role has changed under Rivers, getting limited to playing garbage-time minutes.

However, the former UConn standout recently played some minutes in a blowout loss to the Sacramento Kings and made quite the impression on both his teammates and opponents. He soared to the rim for a putback slam that a recent report ranked third on the list of the NBA's best dunks this season.

Shades of Tom Chambers

Jackson Jr.’s athleticism and explosiveness were on full display as he flew through the air to grab AJ Green's missed shot and threw it down with authority over Sacramento’s Jalen Slawson.

This highlight-reel play is just a glimpse of what Jackson Jr. is capable of, as many scouts saw during his time at UConn.

“There may have been a hint of the Tom Chambers ‘get a subtle boost off the defender midair’ magic going on here, but that doesn't change how absurd this follow dunk from Andre Jackson Jr. looked,” Andy Bailey wrote.

“By the time Jackson got a hold of that ball, his midsection was at the rim. We hear this from time to time, but this was an example of someone literally dunking on the way down.”

Ant takes the top spot

Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards grabbed the top spot on the list of the best dunks this season with his filthy in-your-face hammer over the Utah Jazz’s Jason Collins.

“The lift off the ground, extension of his right arm, and ferocity of the throwdown here makes for one of the greatest displays of athleticism we've ever seen in the NBA,” Bailey said of Edwards’ highlight slam.

“And it feels fitting that this came from Ant. He is, almost certainly, the most prolific highlight factory in the league right now.”
