The Chicago Bulls (28-32) test their mettle against the Sacramento Kings (34-25) in an East-West showdown on Monday night at the Golden 1 Center. With 22 games left in the regular season for Chicago, the Bulls are trying to hang on to the no. 9 spot and host a Play-In Tournament game versus the no.10-ranked team.

Couldn’t sustain the momentum

After pulling off the biggest win of the season—a 132-123 thriller over the second-best team in the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers, last Thursday—the Bulls couldn’t sustain their momentum and got trounced by the Milwaukee Bucks, 113-97, to drop them to 28-32.

It was a difficult loss for the Bulls, which were within eight in the fourth quarter against the powerhouse Bucks but lost control and faltered down the stretch. Emotions boiled over for Chicago as DeMar DeRozan was assessed a flagrant 1 for a minor scuffle with the Bucks’ Bobby Portis, while big man Nikola Vucevic was slapped with a flagrant 2 for giving a hard foul to Milwaukee guard AJ Green.

Caruso is questionable to play

The Bulls’ defensive whiz Alex Caruso is listed as questionable to play due to a hamstring injury. Should Caruso not suit up, it could mean lots of trouble for the Bulls, as the Kings’ All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox was a full participant in the team’s practice on Sunday and might be cleared to play come Monday.
