The Chicago Bulls ended a six-game road trip on a somber note, losing to the Sacramento Kings 101-110. The loss was their third in a row and tenth in the last 14 games, dropping their record to 9-14. The Bulls also ended their six-game road trip with a mediocre 2-4 record. Here are three takeaways from the game.

Zach comes alive

After a sluggish start to the season, it seems that the Bulls' All-Star wingman Zach LaVine is finding his groove

Coming off back-to-back 21-point outings in losses to the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors, the high-flyer tallied 41 points in yesterday's game. He shot an efficient 16-of-28 from the field, and added 8 boards, 4 steals, and 2 dimes. LaVine started the game relentlessly attacking the paint before heating up from long range in the third to spark Chicago's comeback, which eventually fell short.

He shot the lights out in the third quarter, where he scored 15 points, highlighted by three straight three-pointers, including this difficult make:

DeMar, Vucevic struggle

As hot as LaVine was, DeMar DeRozan was pedestrian for the second straight game. He shot 4-of-15 against the Golden State Warriors last time and followed that up with a 6-for-18 outing against the Kings. The "King of the Fourth" also could not get it going when it mattered most, missing all but one of his five attempts in the fourth quarter.

Nikola Vucevic also had an off night, tallying just 12 points and 6 rebounds on a night where he only attempted 10 shots. He was thoroughly outplayed by Sacramento's Domantas Sabonis, who had a triple-double of 11 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Bulls' bench buckles

The Bulls' reserves helped the team snatch their two victories on this road trip. But the same didn't happen against the Kings, as they got outscored, 43-20, by their counterparts.

Malik Monk equaled the Bulls' total bench production by himself, punctuating his stellar performance with this highlight dunk that brought the crowd to its feet and helped Sacramento pull away late in the 3rd quarter.

The Bulls will try to snap this losing spell when they battle the Washington Wizards at home on Wednesday.
