With the NBA Draft now over, the Chicago Bulls need to explore every imaginable scenario possible to improve their roster and avoid the turbulences from their previous season. With numerous teams having high-quality players in need of a fresh start, the Bulls would do well to look into these opportunities and perhaps snag a player who can flourish in the Windy City.

Incredible youth and athleticism

One young and super-talented player who’s reportedly looking for a better opportunity is Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga. As the seventh pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, Kuminga has seen his role fluctuate in his first two seasons in the league. Reports have stated that the 20-year-old forward is eager to adopt a larger role, but the Warriors’ brass is hesitant to hand more responsibilities to him.

Could this spell the end of Kuminga’s time in the Bay? If so, can the Bulls capitalize?

The 6-foot-8 forward from the Republic of Congo has shown flashes of brilliance whenever he was given ample playing time. However, with Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins occupying the forward positions, it’s hard to envision Kuminga getting more than whatever minutes he thinks he deserves.

After all, the former top-10 draft pick is averaging 10 points and three rebounds per game over his first two seasons with the Warriors, and his shooting numbers have been steadily rising each year, making him one of the most exciting prospects in the NBA.

Can the Bulls pounce?

Elias Schuster of Bleacher Nation recently wrote that the Warriors—which previously expressed interest in defensive guard Alex Caruso—may be brought to the table in a deal for Kuminga.

“There has also been a rumor going around that the Golden State Warriors are shopping Jonathan Kuminga,” Schuster wrote. “If I’m the Bulls, and I do plan on taking a step back tonight, I’d call up Golden State and see what they think about Caruso.”
