Cavaliers’ Jarrett Allen Breaks Franchise Record In Loss To Bucks

According to Stathead, the Cleveland center's 13th consecutive double-double broke the franchise record previously held by Andre Drummond.

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ eight-game winning streak unfortunately came to an end in a 126-116 defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.

However, one of the Wine and Gold’s players did make history with yet another powerful performance.

According to Stathead, Jarrett Allen broke the Cavaliers’ franchise record for most consecutive double-doubles with his 13th in a row. He also extended his franchise record with his 13th straight game with a double-double.

Allen broke the franchise record that was previously held by Andre Drummond. The former Cavalier had 12 double-doubles in the first 13 games of the team’s 2020-21 season. The only game in this span in which Drummond did not tally a double-double was when he missed Cleveland’s game on January 12, 2021 due to a right Achilles bruise.

Allen tallied 21 points, a team-high 12 rebounds, and five assists against Milwaukee, while shooting 10-for-19 (52.6%) from the field and 1-for-2 (50%) from the free-throw line.

During his 13-game double-double streak, the 2022 NBA All-Star has certainly made a case for his second career selection. He has averaged 18.4 points, a league-leading 14.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. Allen’s field-goal percentage (minimum 11 attempts per game) in this span also ranks third in the NBA.

This latest game adds onto what has been a momentous week for the 25-year-old, as he was named to the 2024 USA Men’s Basketball National Team Player Pool this past Tuesday.

Allen will look to extend his double-double streak to 14 straight games when the Wine and Gold face the Bucks in a road contest again on Friday night, which is scheduled for 8 p.m.
