The Hawks selected Collins 19th overall in the 2017 draft and he's been a pleasant surprise. The 6-foot-10 big man is averaging 11.5 points and 7.1 rebounds in 21 games while shooting an efficient 59.2 percent from the field.
Collins' injury comes at a bad time for the Hawks, who lost center Dewayne Dedmon to a left tibia stress reaction. Dedmon will miss roughly six weeks.
Atlanta has the second worst record in the Eastern Conference at 4-17.
