The Los Angeles Lakers have renounced the free agent rights to guard Isaiah Thomas and the club won't be re-signing him.
The Lakers acquired Thomas at the February trade deadline from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With the Cavs and Lakers, Thomas finished 2017-18 averaging 15.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists, shooting 37.3 percent from the field and 29.3 percent from three.
Thomas underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right hip on March 28.
The Lakers signed Rajon Rondo and also have Lonzo Ball.
