The Phoenix Suns are 43-31 and seventh in the congested Western Conference standings. While they're 1.5 games from moving into sixth and avoiding the play-in tournament, the Dallas Mavericks, the team in front of them, have caught fire and are 9-1 in their last ten tilts.

Breathing down the Suns' necks are the Sacramento Kings, who are half a game behind them. However, as reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Kevin Huerter tore the labrum in his left shoulder, a season-ending injury, and the fear is Malik Monk suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

As Phoenix, who has eight regular-season games left, fights to, at a minimum, maintain homecourt advantage against the eighth seed in the play-in tournament, the Suns have signed Isaiah Thomas to a second 10-day contract.

The former Boston Celtics star has appeared in two matchups in his second stint in the desert, including playing the final 7:34 in Friday's 128-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, registering five points on 2/4 shooting and dishing out an assist.
