Celtics' Star Ruled Out for Monday's Matchup vs. Knicks

In this story:
The relentless nature of the NBA schedule means it's already time to turn the page after the Celtics' 110-107 win over the Sixers in Saturday's slugfest in a rivalry matchup featuring playoff-like intensity and physicality.
After registering a team-high 26 points, pairing it with four rebounds, three assists, and three steals, Jaylen Brown will miss Monday's matchup against the Knicks for personal reasons.
#NEBHInjuryReport for tomorrow vs. New York:
— Boston Celtics (@celtics) February 26, 2023
Jaylen Brown (personal reasons) - OUT
Danilo Gallinari (left knee ACL repair) - OUT
Derrick White (right ankle sprain) - PROBABLE
The two-time All-Star scored 22 points and grabbed nine boards in Boston's 120-117 overtime loss to New York in the last tilt between these two teams.
The Celtics must take advantage of their depth in managing minutes down the final stretch of the regular season. That's especially true with four games this week and Boston playing three times from Friday through Monday.
And while Derrick White joins Brown on the injury report, despite dealing with a right ankle sprain, he's listed as probable, signaling he'll likely be in the lineup on Monday.
The season series between the Celtics and Knicks is 1-1, with both sides winning in the other's gym. At 44-17, Boston sits atop the East and boasts the NBA's best record. Despite that success, the Bucks are only half a game back in the standings.
New York is 35-27 and sixth in the Eastern Conference, occupying the last seed that doesn't have to participate in the play-in tournament and 2.5 games ahead of the Heat, who are in seventh.
Monday's Celtics-Knicks game tips off at 7:30 pm EST; Inside The Celtics will have content related to the game before, during, and afterward. And follow @BobbyKrivitsky on Twitter for updates and analysis from pregame to post.
