Paul George's Short Answer on Contract Talks With Clippers

In this story:
Despite Kawhi Leonard signing a contract extension with the LA Clippers, his co-star Paul George has yet to do the same. Each time he has been asked about his contract situation, George has shared a level of optimism that something will get done, since both he and the team have that same goal.
Asked again about his contract situation following the Clippers' win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday afternoon, and if the goal is still for both sides to reach an agreement, George simply answered, "That's the goal."
Paul George was asked if the goal for him and the Clippers is to reach an extension.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers have been rumored as possible landing spots for George if he and the Clippers are unable to reach an agreement, but it continues to seem very unlikely that he would leave LA.
Reports about Philadelphia and Indiana should not be surprising, since they are on the very short list of teams that could offer George his desired contract and an opportunity to win. What those two teams cannot offer George is an opportunity to compete for championships in his home town, in a brand new arena, and alongside some of his closest friends.
All of these factors continue to make it seem likely that George and the Clippers get something done, whether during the season or in the summer. The All-Star's brief answer on Saturday seemed more like an unwillingness to disclose the state of negotiations than an indication that his sights are set elsewhere.
