Grizzlies Star Gets Last Laugh in Argument With Celtics Star
While Marcus Smart is now with the Memphis Grizzlies, he will always have love and support from his former Boston Celtics teammates. In a recent Instagram back-and-forth, Celtics star Jaylen Brown and Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr. had a hilarious argument about where Smart's loyalty lies:
After Brown joked and said Smart doesn't even love the Grizzlies like that, Jackson got the last laugh by sharing a screenshot of he and smart on FaceTime together. This was a lighthearted argument between friends, but it was an entertaining one to follow.
Smart was the emotional leader of the Celtics for so long, and will look to fill a similar role for the Grizzlies. Memphis lost Dillon Brooks this summer, so they will certainly need someone to step up and fill some of what he provided. While Smart and Brooks are not the same, they are both defensive leaders who aren't afraid to speak up. Smart has proven the ability to do this at a much higher level than Brooks, which is why he projects to be such a good fit for Memphis.
As for the Celtics, they will need their best players to step into a bigger leadership role next season. Both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown seem ready for that next step, and it's one they'll have to take if Boston wants to reach their goal of a championship.
