Kyrie Irving Responds to not Swapping Jerseys With Dillon Brooks

Kyrie Irving says he'll get Dillon's jersey next time.

Every time the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks face off, there's some level of trash talk between Dillon Brooks and his opposition, whether it's Kyrie Irving or someone else on the court - on Monday night, it was Kyrie Irving,

Unexpectedly, at the end of the game, Brooks was initiating a jersey swap with Kyrie Irving, despite the in-game trash talk. Irving gave Brooks his jersey but didn't accept Brooks' jersey. It was a moment that looked intentional, but Kyrie Irving says it wasn't.

After the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Dallas Mavericks, Kyrie Irving addressed the media postgame, where he also addressed not swapping jerseys.

"I saw that after the game," Irving said. "I'll probably get it next time. Probably next time. Not this time. I was really onto the next thing, thought process-wise."

While Irving says the moment wasn't deliberate, it's pretty rare to see a player hand his jersey to someone, but then not accept one at the same time. The process was already halfway there, and he willingly participated in it. Still, you have to give Kyrie Irving the benefit of the doubt if he's saying that the moment was not intentional.

Unfortunately, for Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks, they won't get another shot at the Memphis Grizzlies for the rest of the season. The Grizzlies have won the series 3-1, and if these two teams meet again, it would likely be in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
