Adam Silver Gives Major Update on Ja Morant Suspension

In this story:
The NBA has been silent on the Ja Morant situation over the last few weeks, but commissioner Adam Silver addressed the media on Thursday, and said an announcement on Morant's suspension will be made after the NBA Finals.
"We look at both the history of prior acts, and we look at the individual player's history as well," Silver said. "And the seriousness of course of the conduct... In terms of the timing, we've uncovered a fair amount of additional information... We probably could have brought it to a head now, but we made the decision, and I believe the player association agrees with us, that it would be unfair to these players and these teams to announce in the middle of this series to announce the results of that investigation."
Adam Silver says the NBA and Players Association has already decided on Ja Morant’s suspension, but said it would be unfair to announce it now during the NBA Finals.

Silver's explanation makes sense, as national coverage about Ja Morant and his actions over the summer would be unfair to those competing in the NBA Finals right now. There is an appropriate time to announce the results of the NBA's investigation into Morant's actions, and Adam Silver believes that is after the Finals have concluded.
Silver added that the Memphis Grizzlies have suspended Morant indefinitely, which allowed the NBA to take this additional time, as nothing would have changed had they announced their decision already. From Silver's comments, it is reasonable to assume a decision on Morant's punishment will come shortly after the Finals conclude.
