Dillon Brooks Shares Message About Facing Grizzlies in Memphis

In this story:

While Dillon Brooks has already faced the Memphis Grizzlies as a member of the Houston Rockets, he has not yet faced them in Memphis. That homecoming game will happen on Friday night when the Rockets make their first trip to Memphis since acquiring Brooks, and it's a game the former Grizzlies forward has circled.

"I can't wait to get back out there playing," Brooks said, per Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal. "This has been circled out there on my schedule."

On his former teammate Jaren Jackson Jr., who scored a career-high 44 points in the loss to Houston on Wednesday, Brooks said, "I've been seeing it my whole career, the flashes. With the injuries and all that, it's hard to get back to where you're supposed to be. That's the type of relentlessness, the aggressiveness that he needs to play with every single game for them to win games."

From his comments, it's clear that Brooks is excited for his first game back in Memphis. While there will definitely be some emotion for Brooks, it's important to remember that he still has very positive relationships with many of his former teammates. Any antics that may go down in that matchup will not change that fact, and it's something Brooks and his former teammates have been open about since he left.
