Grizzlies Expected to Make Roster Move Before Ja Morant's Return

In this story:
The Memphis Grizzlies received a roster exemption due to Ja Morant's suspension that they used to sign veteran center Bismack Biyombo. With Biyombo playing great, the Grizzlies will certainly keep him around, which means they will have to make a separate roster move once Morant returns.
In a recent article, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported his intel on what the Grizzlies are likely to do:
"For now, Memphis will have a roster crunch decision before All-Star guard Ja Morant returns Tuesday from his 25-game suspension," Fischer wrote. "The Grizzlies have been thrilled with the contributions from veteran big man Bismack Biyombo, whom Memphis signed via a roster exemption that came with Morant’s prolonged absence. While the Grizzlies have made calls around the NBA weighing rival teams’ interest in their end-of-the-rotation players, sources said, opposing front offices expect Kenneth Lofton Jr. to be the likely candidate waived before Morant’s return, if a trade doesn’t materialize in the coming days."
Expected to waive Lofton, the Grizzlies could part ways with the young big man if they are unable to find a trade that frees up a roster spot. This is unfortunate for Lofton, who has shown some flashes at the NBA level and in the G-League, but he has not maintained that consistently enough to crack the rotation even with all of the injuries Memphis has dealt with.
