Grizzlies Reveal Ja Morant's Status vs. Rockets

In this story:
After returning from his eight-game suspension on Wednesday, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant will be back in the lineup again on Friday. While it is unclear if Morant will still be coming off the bench, the Grizzlies announced on their injury report that he is available to play.
From what Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said prior to Wednesday’s game, it does seem as if Morant will be coming off the bench for at least a couple more games. The Grizzlies want to maintain some of the lineup continuity and chemistry that helped them be successful in Morant's absence, and they also want him to work up his conditioning to where it needs to be.
The Grizzlies enter play on Friday with a two-game lead on the third-seed Sacramento Kings. Winners of their last four games, Memphis has created a bit of separation between themselves in Sacramento, which gives them the inside track to the two-seed.
This should be important for Memphis, as the two-seed allows them to face whatever team escapes the play-in tournament as the seven-seed. While that could be any number of teams at this point, it does give Memphis an advantage getting to face a team that just battled their way out of the play-in tournament.
As for Friday night's game vs. the Rockets, this is another contest for Memphis against the worst team in the Western Conference, giving them a real chance to extend their winning streak. The Grizzlies and Rockets will tip off at 8:00 PM EST in Memphis.
