Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is one of the very best players in the NBA, and is on an even shorter list of the best guards in the NBA. While that remains the case even with his suspension, there has been some national media noise about certain guards passing Morant up.

With Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton taking another leap this season, and New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson continuing his ascension, those two guards regularly appear near the top of these rankings, and sometimes over Morant. While these lists are of course nothing more than media talking points, Morant was asked about those two players being placed over him while he has been out, and said he doesn't get mad about it.

"Hats off to them for leading their teams and playing great," Morant said. "Obviously the league has a lot of talented players, I have no say on who is better than me and who is not. Obviously that's everybody else's opinion, so yeah. I don't get mad about that stuff, man."

Motivated by things outside of what the media has to say, Morant just wants to get back on the court and help the Grizzlies win games. That is his primary focus, and anything outside of that is just noise. Looking forward to his return, Morant is counting down the games.
