Ja Morant Reveals Honest Thoughts on Grizzlies' Potential

It was just last season when the Memphis Grizzlies finished the regular season with the second best record in the Western Conference. While an early playoff exit to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round certainly overshadowed this regular season success, it was a glimpse into what this young Grizzlies core can do over the course of a season.

Ja Morant's 25-game suspension, along with injuries to other key players, has certainly stalled some of the Grizzlies' momentum from last season; however, they remain confident in what they can accomplish. This was the message from Morant after Memphis defeated the Atlanta Hawks for their third-straight win to remain undefeated since the star point guard came back from suspension.

"Nah, I'm not surprised at all," Morant said, per Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "I pretty much been here. I know everything we're capable of, what type of team we have and what kind of noise we can make in this league."

While the Grizzlies have not had any deep playoff success since drafting Morant, they have been building towards that goal for a few seasons. It will not be easy to secure a playoff spot this year, but this winning streak since Morant's return has provided a lot of reason for optimism that this team can still be special.
