Ja Morant Reveals Meaning Behind Concerning Message

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant shared a cryptic message on Instagram on Wednesday, posting pictures with his parents and daughter before one final post that simply read, "Bye."
People were concerned about Morant, and according to TMZ, the police conducted a welfare check on Morant and determined he was alright. A spokesperson for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office told TMZ that Morant revealed to the police that he is taking a break from social media, which was the meaning behind his posts on Instagram.
This is certainly a relief, as many were concerned about what Morant may be referencing with that cryptic message on Instagram. Fortunately the star point guard revealed to police that he is simply taking a break from social media, which was the meaning behind his Instagram post saying, "Bye."
The NBA has yet to issue an official punishment for Morant's second gun video incident, but one is certainly expected to come. The league is taking their time with this decision, but all signs point towards Morant receiving a lengthy suspension to begin the 2023-24 season. For now, the star point guard is taking a break from social media.
The Grizzlies have also remained mostly quiet on the Morant incident, suspending him from team activities shortly after the video surfaced, but allowing the NBA determine their ruling before making any further statements.
