Ja Morant Shares Cryptic Message About Muscle Gain

In this story:
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been sharing an Instagram story post every game recently, counting down the games until his return from suspension. For his post with 10 games remaining, Morant shared a cryptic message about his possible muscle gain over the offseason.

Sharing a picture of a scale that showed 188.2 LBs, Morant was seemingly showing his followers that he has gained 14 pounds this offseason - if it is indeed his weight being shown on that scale. While this is of course not going to be 100% muscle, a good amount of it will be, especially for a player with Morant's build.
Morant plays a very unique game that isn’t super dependent on strength, but with so much of his attack coming at the basket, it certainly would not hurt to have extra muscle when absorbing contact from defenders. Morant is already an elite finisher, especially for somebody his size, but this added strength could make him an even greater force in that area of the game.
The Grizzlies are going to need Morant to be at the peak of his powers once he returns from suspension, because their 3-12 start has them well behind the rest of the conference. That said, even with a record this poor, the Grizzlies are just four games out of a play-in spot, and could certainly make a push into that mix once Morant returns.
It is also important to mention that Morant is not the only Grizzlies player who has been out this season, as several other key contributors have missed significant time. Once the Grizzlies star returns, the team is hopeful they can turn this season around.
