Jaren Jackson Jr. Gets Honest About Ja Morant's Suspension

In this story:
Speaking at the final day of Team USA's training camp, Memphis Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr. was asked how his team will navigate the first 25 games of next season without Ja Morant.
"We just gotta navigate it," Jackson said, per ESPN's Tim Bontemps. "Obviously, we know that not having Ja is a real big hole to fill, but, you know, he's not, it's not like he's not gonna be around. He's gonna give us all the tools to be able to get that done."
The Grizzlies recognize the challenge they face with their best player sidelined for the first 25 games, but this is not entirely unfamiliar territory for Memphis. Morant has missed time over the last several seasons, having dealt with different injuries, and the Grizzlies have often found ways to stay afloat - or even raise their game in his absence. Looking to draw from this experience, the Grizzlies have an opportunity to surprise a lot of people at the beginning of next season.
Having made some nice offseason moves, the Grizzlies have also put themselves in a position to better sustain Morant's suspension. Adding Marcus Smart and Derrick Rose, the Grizzlies have some point guard depth, while also having guards like Desmond Bane and Luke Kennard that can handle the ball when needed. It won't be easy, but the Grizzlies are ready to attack the first 25 games of next season.
