LaMelo Ball's Injury Status vs. Memphis Grizzlies Revealed

The Memphis Grizzlies are facing the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, but they will not have to deal with star guard LaMelo Ball. The Hornets have released their injury report for this game, and Ball has been ruled out with right ankle tendinopathy.

Ankle issues have plagued Ball for much of his young NBA career, and have again limited his time on the court this season. Ball has played just 22 games this season, and played just 36 last season. This has contributed to Charlotte being such a poor team, but they also have not been great even when he is out there.

On the season, the Hornets are just 7-15 when Ball plays. Overall, Charlotte is 16-49 on the season, which has them in 13th place in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte has not made the playoffs since 2016 when they lost in the first round. Charlotte last made it out of the first round 2002, and they have made the postseason just three times since then.

The Hornets have some solid young pieces, but they have not put together anything serious in recent seasons. This is something that will need to change if the Hornets want to be a team that escapes the bottom of the lottery where they have been for the last two seasons. Ball's health is one of the biggest keys for Charlotte.
