The Charlotte Hornets are set to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night, but they will not have star guard LaMelo Ball. The Hornets have ruled Ball out with right ankle tendinopathy, which has had him out since January 27th.

Ball has played just 22 games this season, as injuries remain an issue for the young guard. Playing 75 games in the 2021-22 season, Ball made the All-Star team, but that's the only season of his four-year career that he did not miss extended time.

Ball played 51 games his rookie season, and just 36 last year. There was of course the 75-game season for Ball in between those two, but that has been the exception for him to start his career.

The Grizzlies will look a lot different this game than they have for most of the season, as they made quite a few moves at the trade deadline. Most of these moves were made with an eye for next season, as the Grizzlies want to maintain their optionality once they get fully healthy, but there are some new pieces who can help them now.

For Charlotte, they are also one of the bottom teams in the league, but still have some talented pieces that can give any team trouble. Memphis will have to be locked in for this game if they want to get a win.
