Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is currently awaiting an official punishment from the NBA for his latest gun video incident. In the meantime, the basketball world has been sharing their opinions on the situation, with NBA legend Kevin Garnett being one of the latest to weigh in.

"This is when I think the league needs the big brother, big sister program right here," Garnett said during an episode of Showtime's Ticket & The Truth. "This is what I think the fraternities and sororities are for, real sh-t."

Garnett continued, saying the following:

"I'm just going to be one-hundred about it, a lot of these kids don't have a script. And what I mean by that, is that this is their first time being outside. So they don't know what they doing, they just doing whatever the agent is suggesting, whatever they think is clever and you know, you damn near think you're untouchable until you run into situations like this… Everybody wants to take it back once it’s done, you know what I'm saying? And [Morant] has the luxury of being able to survive this, but more importantly, I don't think he's thinking about what he is."

There have been a lot of different opinions on this situation, but Garnett was brutally honest in saying young athletes like Morant often don't have the guidance they need to navigate stardom. It was interesting perspective from Garnett, who like so many others just wants to see Morant get better from this.
