Rapper Defends Ja Morant After Latest Gun Video

In this story:
There have been a lot of differing opinions on Ja Morant's latest gun video incident, with some defending the Grizzlies star, saying he did nothing wrong or illegal, while others have gone as far to call for a year-long suspension from the NBA. Most takes lie somewhere in the middle, which is where the NBA will ultimately land; however, rapper Blocboy JB is amongst those who believe Morant did nothing wrong.
Sharing a post on his Instagram story, Blocboy JB said guns are not illegal, and if Morant is being recorded holding a gun that's in his name, then it's not on him. The rapper ended his post with, "Free Ja."

Several major names have weighed in on the latest Morant incident, including multiple rappers as well. As previously mentioned, opinions range from one extreme to the other, but the NBA's ultimate decision on a punishment has yet to be made.
Morant was suspended for eight games the first time he flashed a gun on Instagram live, and will likely face a lengthier suspension this time around. While there is no real good news as it pertains to this situation, Morant's suspension this time will come at the beginning of the season, as opposed to late in the year like last time, which will give the Grizzlies more time to prepare for the stretch of games without him.
