Report: Grizzlies Expect Ja Morant to be OUT for 'Foreseeable Future'

In this story:
Wednesday night's game vs. the Miami Heat will mark four games since the Memphis Grizzlies announced that star point guard Ja Morant would miss at least the next four contests due to his gun video incident. While no official update has been given from the team since then, it's beginning to become clear that Morant will be out longer than just one more game.
In a report from Shams Charania on Tuesday morning, it was announced that the Grizzlies are expecting Morant to be out for the foreseeable future:
"Ja Morant has been receiving counseling in Florida for the last week," Charania said. "It's unclear when he's gonna be back. He's essentially been serving a de facto six-game suspension, and that will end here in the next few days. But I’m told that the Grizzlies' expectation is that he’s gonna be out still for the foreseeable future. There is still the NBA's investigation that is still ongoing. The Grizzlies have said that they are balancing trying to hold Ja Morant accountable vs. also supporting him and understanding that he needs to go get help. I think the league also needs to finish their investigation."

Charania added that the police investigation is one element of this situation that has been completed, with Morant not being charged with any crimes; however, the NBA and the Grizzlies have yet to make any final determinations on how this situation will play out. For now, the expectation is that Morant will be out for the foreseeable future.
