Memphis Grizzlies star Desmond Bane was listed as questionable on the initial injury report for Friday night's game against the Houston Rockets, but it seems as if he will soon be upgraded to available. Speaking with reporters before Friday night's matchup, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Bane looks to be on track to play.

This is big for a Grizzlies team that is of course still without Ja Morant and so many other key players, as Bane has been stepping up in a big way for them this season. Solidifying himself as one of the best shooting guards in basketball, Bane is currently averaging 24.8 PPG, 5.3 APG, and 4.3 RPG. Bane is also putting up these numbers on solid efficiency, which makes it even more impressive when considering the increased defensive attention that he has faced with his backcourt partner Ja Morant suspended.

This game projects to be an emotional one, as it is the return of Dillon Brooks to Memphis for the first time since his departure this summer. Bane and Brooks had a little back and forth in Houston earlier this season, but that is of course all friendly competition between the two former teammates.

If Bane is indeed able to play in this game, it will give the Grizzlies a much better chance to grab a win over Houston.
