Starter Unexpectedly Ruled OUT for Pacers vs. Grizzlies

In this story:
The Memphis Grizzlies have released their injury report vs. the Indiana Pacers, and starting guard Luke Kennard has unexpectedly been ruled out. Kennard played 30 minutes in the Grizzlies' win over the Orlando Magic on Friday, but is now being ruled out due to left knee soreness.
This game against the Pacers is the front half of a back-to-back for the Grizzlies, so perhaps the team is just being cautious with Kennard, who has dealt with different injuries this season. Memphis is heading home to face the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, and Kennard's status will be one to watch for in that game.
Kennard is averaging 13.9 PPG and 4.6 APG on 50% from deep as a starter this season, which is one of the biggest reasons the Grizzlies have not completely fallen apart. With so many injuries to their top players, the Grizzlies are several games back of a play-in spot, but still feel as if they have something to play for.
Climbing into the play-in picture will be nearly impossible for Memphis with so many top players out, but this team will continue to compete until the season is over. Once this year ends, Memphis can only hope that their injury misfortune ends with it, and they can run it back next year with a more complete roster.
