In this story:

During a recent appearance at the Up Next Elite Camp in New Orleans, Ja Morant's father Tee Morant got honest about his son's gun trouble. While many have attempted to blame the people that Morant surrounded himself with for his actions, Tee Morant shut that down, and said it was Ja's decisions that got him in trouble.

"My son didn’t get in trouble because of people around him, he got in trouble because of his decisions," Tee Morant said.

This is great advice from Tee Morant, because while many believe Ja's actions were negatively influenced by the people around him, each individual has an opportunity to make their own choices regardless of outside influences. It can certainly be a positive thing to eliminate bad influences, but even if Morant had those type of people around him, it was his decision making that led to a 25-game suspension from the NBA.

After Morant seemed to take full accountability for his first gun incident, the Grizzlies star made a nearly identical mistake not long after. Because of this, many are skeptical that he has changed his ways. That said, this level of accountability that his father spoke about is what people hope has set in for Morant as he looks to bounce back from what has been a difficult stretch for him.
